What is Gurudwara and its Importance for Sikhs?

Gurudwara is a place where Sikhs come to bow down their heads. They believe that it is a place that helps to enhance spirituality. The superior Lord runs the life of all beings with fulfilment. The Gurudwara is a domicile place of Guru.

The praising hymns are sung at this place during ceremonies or any other occasion. Congregationally, people do adoration for devoting their true feelings towards the lord. The inauguration of the first gurdwara was done by the first guru of Sikhs Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

In the current era, Guru Granth Sahib Ji is present in Gurudwara which is the holy scripture containing lots of spiritual guidance. All Religious ceremonies whether it is related to happiness such as marriage or death are performed in Gurudwara. Anand Sahib is recited on the occasion of death, birth and matrimony.

  • All leather material is strictly restrained inside gurudwara.
  • The feet should be clean and socks should not be worn.
